September 12: Our pilgrimage to Italy begins as we depart our local airport for and an overnight flight to Milan, Italy. 

September 13: Upon arrival into Milan, we gather our luggage, board our deluxe motor coach, and head to downtown Milan for a guided sightseeing tour. Later this afternoon we will check into our hotel for some leisure time before our welcome Mass and dinner. Overnight Milan

September 14: This morning we will continue our visit of Milan starting with Mass at the Duomo, Milan’s magnificent Basilica where our chaplains will celebrate Mass at St. Charles Borromeo’s tomb. Following some leisure time in Milan we set off for Bologna, Italy arriving there in time for dinner. Overnight Bologna

September 15: Today we will enjoy a sightseeing tour of Bologna, including a visit to the Church of St. Sigismund, the burial place of Blessed Imelda, Patroness of First Communicants. Overnight Bologna

September 16: Our first stop will be in the city of Siena. This medieval city is the birthplace of St. Catherine "Doctor of the Church". We will see many sights including a visit to the Cathedral and the Basilica of St. Francis, containing the miraculous consecrated hosts that remained intact since 1730. View the incorrupt head of St. Catherine at the Basilica of St. Dominic. Next, we will visit the Shrine of St. Catherine, which occupies the site of her family home followed by a walking tour through the Siena including a visit to the Duomo. Overnight Siena

October 17: Following breakfast in Siena we depart for Rome. Enroute we will visit the town of Orvieto and the cathedral that was built to commemorate the “Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena.” All roads lead to Rome. Upon arrival in Rome, we start with a sightseeing tour of the Eternal City, such as the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, the Roman Forum. Following hotel check-in, there will be time for relaxation before we gather for dinner. Overnight Rome

September 18: We will spend today in the headquarters of the Roman Catholic Church and the smallest country in the world, the Vatican. Pope Francis will greet us (and thousands of fellow pilgrims from around the world) in St. Peter’s Square, followed by teachings, readings, and a Papal blessing (subject to Pope Francis’ schedule). We will continue our time in the Vatican with a tour of Saint Peter’s Basilica, the Vatican Museum, and the Sistine Chapel, all built on the site where Saint Peter, the chief apostle, died a martyr and was buried in 64 AD. Overnight Rome

September 19: Today we visit the basilicas of St. John Lateran including the Holy Stairs, St. Paul Outside the Walls, and St. Mary Major, where a reliquary containing part of the Holy Crib of Bethlehem rests. We will cap the day with a visit to the Collegio San Norberto. Overnight Rome

September 20: Today Ancient Rome will be explored beginning with Mass at the Church of Santa Maria Ara Coeli (a Church on the Capitoline Hill which commemorates a vision of Augustus Caesar of the Virgin Mary). Next, we will visit the Mamertine Prison where St. Peter and St. Paul were imprisoned for 9 months. We also see the remnants of the Roman Forum and the Colosseum. After lunch, we will visit the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps, the Pantheon, and the Piazza Navona. Overnight Rome

September 21: With a renewed sense of pilgrimage and an invigorated love of our Catholic faith, we board our plane for our flight home.
