Highlights of this trip include the opportunity to venerate the Eucharistic Miracles of Lanciano, Cascia, and Bolsena. We'll also visit the homeplaces and shrines of St. Padre Pio, St. Francis of Assisi, and St. Catherine of Siena, have Mass in St. Peter's Square with an anticipated Papal Audience to follow, and see the many sights of Rome including the Vatican Museums and Colluseum!

Your Pilgrimage Itinerary...
June 11, 2018: Our pilgrimage to Italy begins as we depart from our local airport for an overnight flight to Rome, Italy.
June 12: Upon arrival in Rome, we’ll have a sightseeing tour of the Eternal City, such as the Colosseum, Arch of Constantine, the Roman Forum. Following hotel check-in, there will be time for relaxation before we gather for Mass. Overnight Rome
June 13: After breakfast, we’re off to St. Peter’s Square for Mass and a Papal Audience (subject to the Pope’s schedule). Following a lunch break, we’ll tour the Vatican Museum, Sistine Chapel and St. Peter’s Basilica. Dinner. Overnight Rome
June 14: Departure from Rome for Monte Cassino, where we’ll have Mass in the monastery founded by St. Benedict in 529. Next, we’ll continue to San Giovanni Rotondo, and the shrine of St. Padre Pio. We’ll visit the church of Santa Maria della Grazie, home of the tomb of St. Padre Pio, the Capuchin priest who bore our Lord’s stigmata for the majority of his life. Dinner. June 15: This morning, we depart for Mass in Lanciano, site of the Eucharistic Miracle of the eighth century. Following our visit there, we make our way to Assisi, where St. Francis grew up and founded the Order of St. Francis. Dinner. Overnight Assisi
June 16: Today, we'll visit the Basilica of St. Francis for Mass. After, we go up to St. Clare’s Church, which houses the tomb of St. Clare. After lunch, we head to lower Assisi to visit the Church of St. Mary of the Angels, which houses the Porziuncula. Dinner. Overnight Assisi
June 17: After breakfast we depart Assisi for Cascia and Siena. We drive through the beautiful Umbrian mountains, to Cascia, the hometown of St. Rita where our Chaplain will celebrate Mass at the Basilica of St. Rita of Cascia. Next, we will visit the Basilica, which houses the bodies of St. Rita & St. Theresa as well as precious relics from the Eucharistic Miracle of Cascia. We will also have leisure time for personal prayer and reflection, followed by a walk through the quaint streets of Cascia. Next, we drive to the Tuscan city of Siena. This medieval city is the birthplace of St. Catherine “Doctor of the Church”. We’ll visit the Basilica of St. Catherine (which is also known as the Basilica of St. Domenico) where the incorrupt head of St. Catherine rests. After, we will visit the Shrine of St. Catherine, which occupies the site of her family home. Enjoy a walking tour through the Siena including a visit to its Cathedral (Duomo di Siena). June 18: Following breakfast we depart for Rome, on the way we’ll visit the town of Orvieto and the cathedral that was built to commemorate the Eucharistic Miracle of Bolsena. We’ll visit the beautiful Duomo in Orvieto where Mass will be celebrated. Leisure time in this quaint hilltop town before we set off for Rome arriving there in time for dinner. Overnight Rome
June 19: Following breakfast, we will visit the Basilica of St. Paul Outside the Walls, the Church of St. Peter in Chains as well as the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran where we’ll have an opportunity to climb the Lateran Steps. In the afternoon, enjoy a walking tour of the Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon, and Piazza Navona, or have the afternoon on your own at leisure. We enjoy a closing Mass together and gather for our farewell dinner. Overnight Rome
June 20: With a renewed sense of pilgrimage and an invigorated love of our Catholic faith, we will board our plane for our flight home.
