August 21: After enjoying breakfast, we’ll explore Lima – capital of Peru and a city is rich in cultural sites and remarkably preserved architecture. This splendid city, being founded on the feast of the Epiphany, was first named “City of Kings” (Ciudad de los Reyes), in reference to the “Three Wise Men.” We’ll visit the colonial heart of the city – Plazas de Armas, the Cathedral and the ornate Archbishop’s Palace, the Church of Santo Domingo which houses the remains of St. Martin de Porres and St. Rose of Lima, the Monastery of St. Francis with its catacombs, and the National Museum. Next, we visit the Nazarenas Sanctuary and finish the day with Mass at the Iglesia de San Pedro” (St. Peter Chruch). Overnight Lima (Miraflores province)
August 22: Morning departure to the airport to catch our flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, we will allow ourselves to adjust to the high altitude of this quaint city. Next, we start our city tour of Cusco, visiting the archeological sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenko, PucaPucara and Tambomachay and the famous Temple of the Sun, Qoricancha, or the “Enclosure of Gold”, then to the main Cathedral where our Chaplain will celebrate Mass. Overnight in Cusco
August 23: Following breakfast we transfer to the train station for our “switchback ride on the train” going to Aguas Calientes, the stepping-off point to Machu Picchu. Enjoy the view as we reach to the top of the mountain. Upon arrival, the buses are waiting to take us to the Sacred Citadel of Machu Picchu. During the guided tour marvel at the different sections of the Citadel. We will have lunch at the restaurant of the Sanctuary Lodge Hotel, then take the bus back down to our hotel in Aguas Calientes. The rest of the day is at leisure to explore this quaint provincial town on our own. Overnight in Aguas Calientes
August 24: Today is set aside for leisure. You may want to take another trip up to Machu Picchu or just visit the city of Cusco. Later this afternoon we will gather for Mass at “Iglesia de San Blas.” Overnight in Cusco

August 26: After breakfast, we depart via our deluxe motor coach for Puno, Peru. Puno is a city in southern Peru on Lake Titicaca, one of South America’s largest lakes and the world’s highest navigable body of water. A regional trading hub, the city’s also considered Peru’s “folkloric capital” owing to its traditional festivals featuring vibrant music and dancing. Before checking into our hotel, we will visit and participate in Mass at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Charles Borromeo, Puno. Overnight Puno
August 27: Today we will experience the rural tranquility of the Uros and Taquile Islands located on Lake Titicaca. Travel on a Uno boat as we marvel at the majestic floating islands, made entirely of reeds, as you wander and watch locals go about their daily business. We will participate in Mass at the Catholic church on the island of Taquile. Overnight Puno
August 28: Today we will catch our flight back to Lima. Upon arrival, we transfer to the hotel and then we visit the Gold Museum and its impressive collection of Inka and Pre-Inka artefacts.
