Fr. Bran Larkin, a Colorado native, who grew up as the middle child of three boys in the foothills southwest of Denver. He was on his way to becoming a boring accountant when God set a new trajectory on his life by calling him to priesthood. FB (as some call him) is addicted to coffee, the beauty of the mountains, ’90s music and is trying to follow Jesus. FB will be our own dedicated pilgrimage chaplain in Kauai, leading us in daily Mass, Prayer, and Confessions. He is currently the pastor at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Parish in the Archdiocese of Denver.

Today we arrive on the island of Kauai, often called the Garden Isle for its lush landscapes and untouched natural beauty. Check-in at our oceanfront resort begins at 4:00 PM. Once settled, you’re free to unwind, walk the beach, explore the resort’s amenities, or enjoy dinner on your own at one of the nearby local restaurants. As the sun begins to set, we’ll gather on the ocean lawn for a a welcome cocktail reception. With tiki torches lighting the shoreline, we enjoy a relaxed evening with desserts, drinks, and conversation, the perfect way to begin our time together in this beautiful setting.
We begin the day with breakfast, followed by Mass at the hotel. Our journey takes us to some of Kauai’s most scenic and awe-inspiring locations, starting with the Kalalau Lookout, offering breathtaking views into the Kalalau Valley and across the vast Pacific, often framed by rainbows that seem to meet the earth. We continue to Waimea Canyon, the “Grand Canyon of the Pacific,” where deep red cliffs, lush green valleys, and cascading waterfalls showcase the raw beauty of God’s creation. In the afternoon, we visit the Hanapepe Valley, then enjoy lunch together as a group. Our adventure continues to the Spouting Horn Blowhole, followed by a boat tour up the Wailua River to the Fern Grotto, a serene lava rock cave once reserved for Hawaiian royalty, draped in hanging ferns and surrounded by jungle. Before dinner, we’ll gather on the grounds of Smith’s Garden for an outdoor talk by Chris, then attend Smith’s Luau, featuring an authentic Hawaiian Luau complete with cocktails, Kalua pig feast, and traditional “Rhythm of Aloha” show.
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Hanalei, one of Kauai’s most scenic coastal towns. The morning includes kayaking on the Hanalei River, where you can paddle beneath the Historic Hanalei Bridge and into the Hanalei National Wildlife Refuge, spotting native birds and lush tropical foliage, or paddle out to Hanalei Bay, where you’ll see Honu (sea turtles) and enjoy the warm golden sand beach. Lunch is on our own, with a variety of local cafés and food spots nearby. In the afternoon, we’ll gather together and attend Mass at Saint William Catholic Church, before returning back to the resort for dinner and an evening talk by Chris.
We start with breakfast and Mass at the hotel, then prepare for one of the most memorable experiences of the trip: a doors-off helicopter tour over Kauai. With the doors removed for full panoramic views, we soar above lush rainforests, hidden waterfalls, Waimea Canyon, and the dramatic Na Pali Coast. The cool island breeze and sweeping vistas make this both an exhilarating and humbling experience. Along the way, our expert pilot points out sights that are only visible by air, offering a rare glimpse into the untouched beauty of God’s creation from a whole new perspective. You’ll have the option to opt out for a day at leisure at the resort and receive a $350 refund. Lunch is on our own today. In the evening, we’ll gather for dinner, followed by adoration, worship, and a talk from Chris.

We depart our resort in the morning for our catamaran excursion with Captain Andy’s Sailing Adventures. Breakfast will be served onboard, as we cruise along the Na Pali Coast, with time for snorkeling. In the afternoon a BBQ lunch is included before returning to shore around 2:00 PM. On our way back, pending interest, we will stop at the Kauai Coffee Estate for a quick pick me up. In the evening, we will gather for dinner, followed by a talk with Chris and evening Mass.
After breakfast, we will gather for a closing Mass on the beach. After Mass the pilgrimage will officially conclude. Those with later flights may relax at the resort or by the pool until departure.
