Preguntas frecuentes

Frequently asked questions

How active is this pilgrimage?+

This is an active program that covers a good amount of ground each day. Expect a wake-up call around 7am, departure by 9am and a return to the hotel between 5pm and 6pm. You should be able to walk 3 to 4 miles a day at a moderate pace, with uneven surfaces, stairs, cobblestones and some slopes. In Zakopane we ride the cable car up and hike down a mountain trail, and the Wieliczka Salt Mines involve many stairs underground.

What is the weather like in April?+

April in Poland is cool and changeable, with chilly mornings and evenings and rain on some days. It is colder in the mountains at Zakopane, where snow is possible. Bring warm layers, a waterproof jacket and sturdy walking shoes.

Do I need a passport?+

Yes. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the return date, and passport cards are not accepted for international travel. We need your passport details at least 90 days before departure. Entry rules for Europe can change, so we will let you know before departure if anything new applies to your trip.

Can I book my own flights?+

Yes. The price includes group airfare; if you book your own flights, the price is reduced by $1,000. Tell us at registration so we can line your arrival up with the group’s in Warsaw on April 12 and its departure from Kraków on April 20.

How does the Prague extension work?+

The extension is optional and is added to the pilgrimage price. On April 20, while the main group flies home from Kraków, extension pilgrims travel to Prague for two nights, with Mass at the Church of Our Lady Victorious before the Infant Jesus of Prague, and fly home from Prague on April 22.

When is the final payment due?+

Final payment is due on January 11, 2027, 90 days before departure. Payment plans are available if you would like to make smaller payments before then.

Should I buy travel insurance?+

We strongly encourage travel insurance for all of our pilgrims, and we partner with Allianz Travel Insurance to offer affordable coverage. Most of our pilgrims choose the Classic Plan. Insurance can be quoted and purchased after registration.

What is a pilgrimage?+

A pilgrimage is not a vacation or excursion but a unique spiritual journey that provides many opportunities to deepen your relationship with God and enrich your Catholic faith by bringing Scripture to life. Pilgrimages offer the opportunity to let Christ draw you near.

More questions are answered in our Support Center, covering booking, payments, travel insurance, passports and what to expect on pilgrimage.

Kraków & Lagiewniki

After breakfast at the hotel, we begin our pilgrimage by ascending Wawel Hill to visit the magnificent Wawel Cathedral and the Coronation Chapel. This historic cathedral, adorned with Gothic, Renaissance, and Baroque art, has served as the coronation site of Polish monarchs for centuries. Here, we pause for prayer at the tomb of St. Stanislaus, the patron saint of Poland. Next, we explore Kraków’s Market Square, where the sound of the silver trumpet from St. Mary’s Tower fills the air. The square’s timeless beauty has remained virtually unchanged for 700 years and features treasures such as the Town Hall Tower, Cloth Hall, and charming Burgher’s houses. We visit the splendid St. Mary’s Church, a symbol of the city’s enduring faith and artistry. Enjoy free time for lunch on your own before we travel to Lagiewniki, the world center of the Divine Mercy devotion. Here, through St. Faustina Kowalska, Christ shared His message of mercy with the world. We visit the Shrine of Divine Mercy, containing the miraculous image of the Merciful Jesus, the relics of St. Faustina, her convent chapel, and her tomb. We celebrate Mass at the Shrine of Divine Mercy, where St. John Paul II consecrated the world to Divine Mercy in 2002. After Mass, we have time to pray before a relic of St. John Paul II. We return to Kraków for a beautiful dinner at a local restaurant and may enjoy an optional evening stroll through the Old Town before resting for the night.

Czestochowa & Wieliczka

Today, we journey to Czestochowa, Poland’s most important Marian pilgrimage shrine since the 14th century. We celebrate Mass at Jasna Góra Monastery, home to the revered Icon of the Black Madonna. Tradition holds that this icon was painted by St. Luke the Evangelist, discovered by St. Helen, and enshrined here. The monastery also houses numerous relics and treasures of immense spiritual and cultural value. After our prayerful visit, we enjoy free time for lunch on our own before continuing to Wieliczka, home to the oldest salt mine in Europe, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This breathtaking underground complex, carved entirely from salt, includes chapels, sculptures, and chandeliers, an awe-inspiring testament to faith and craftsmanship. We return to Kraków for dinner and overnight after a spiritually enriching but full day.

We visit the Martyrdom Museum and pause in prayer at the cell of St. Maximilian Kolbe, who offered his life for another prisoner, a profound act of Christ-like love. Afterward, we enjoy lunch on our own before traveling to Wadowice, the birthplace of St. John Paul II. We visit his childhood home, now a beautifully curated museum, and the nearby parish church where he was baptized. This visit offers a deeply personal connection to the early life and faith of one of the Church’s most beloved saints. We return to Kraków for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant.

Medjugorje

After breakfast we visit Medjugorje, a renowned pilgrimage destination known for reported apparitions and miracles since 1981, attracting pilgrims seeking peace and renewal. Experience the beauty and peace of this simple village. During your stay in Medjugorje you will have the opportunity to share faith with thousands of pilgrims from all over the world. Your local guide will accompany you throughout the week. Here are some of the activities you will be sharing with your fellow pilgrims: Each morning at 10am you assemble at St James Church for the English-language Mass (Feast days and Sundays English Mass is at Noon). Follow the same path up Apparition Hill where the young visionaries first encountered Our Lady. Touch and pray before the statue that commemorates the spot where Mary first appeared to the visionaries.

Each evening at 5pm (or 6pm daylight savings time) you will join the villagers and pilgrims to pray the rosary, and attend the Croatian Mass. The apparition takes place at 5:40pm (or 6:40 daylight savings time.) Don’t miss the Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament on Saturday, and the Veneration of the Cross in the Church on Fridays. Each evening during Croatian Mass, there is the Blessing of the Sick and blessing of the religious items you have with you. Your guide will arrange meetings with the visionaries as they are available. You will have the opportunity to climb Krizevac Mountain, where in 1933 the villagers built a 30’ high cross on the 1900th anniversary of Jesus’ crucifixion. Visit and pray at “Blue Cross”, which is a place of great healings and graces, a very special place at the base of Apparition Hill.

Frequently asked questions

How active is this pilgrimage?+

This is an active program that covers a good amount of ground each day. Expect a wake-up call around 7am, departure by 9am and a return to the hotel between 5pm and 6pm. You should be able to walk 3 to 4 miles a day at a moderate pace, with uneven surfaces, stairs, cobblestones and some slopes, including the walk down into the Wieliczka Salt Mine. The climbs up Apparition Hill and Krizevac in Medjugorje are rocky and optional.

What is the weather like in late September?+

Expect cool to mild days in Kraków and Prague, with chilly mornings and evenings and some rain. Medjugorje and Dubrovnik are usually warmer and drier at this time of year. Bring layers, a light rain jacket and sturdy walking shoes.

Do I need a passport?+

Yes. Your passport must be valid for at least six months beyond the return date, and passport cards are not accepted for international travel. We need your passport details at least 90 days before departure. Medjugorje is in Bosnia and Herzegovina, outside the European Union, so the group crosses a border by coach on the way in and out. Entry rules can change, so we will let you know before departure if anything new applies to your trip.

How do hotel rooms work?+

Rates are per person based on two pilgrims sharing a room. Shared rooms are always doubles with two beds. If you are travelling alone we will try to match you with a roommate of the same gender; if we cannot, the single room supplement applies.

Can I book my own flights?+

Yes. The price includes group airfare; if you book your own flights, the price is reduced by $1,000. Tell us at registration so we can line your arrival up with the group’s in Kraków on September 21 and its departure from Dubrovnik on October 1.

When is the final payment due?+

Final payment is due on June 22, 2027, 90 days before departure.
